Tim Burger grew up in a small town outside of Athens, Georgia, in the rolling Piedmont of the Deep South. He spent two decades in the Northeast after graduate school, and now lives on the Georgia Coast.

This site is about the South (and more)—the deep and abiding cultural, literary, and artistic region that has shaped so many people and places.

The South is troubled. It is also beautiful and complex: alive, restless, and enduring.
